             abstract = "Over the last few years, the internet was definetely consolided as 
                         an important media for information avaliability in a large 
                         deversity of formats, such as texts, images, videos, sounds and 
                         geographic information. The brazilian Cerrado biome has an area of 
                         2 million Km2, of which 40% has been converted to agriculture and 
                         pasture. Because this accelerated conversion process of the native 
                         vegetation in the Cerrado area, the Image Processing and 
                         Geoprocessing Lab (LAPIG), in partnership with International 
                         Conservation (CI), The Nature Conservation (TNC), and the 
                         Brazilian Environmental Ministry (MMA) initiated a deforestation 
                         monitoring program of the Cerrado, basead on the use of the 
                         MOD13Q1 product with moderated spatial resolution (250 meters). 
                         All the data and information produced within the scope of this 
                         deforestation monitoring program are avaliable through the Cerrado 
                         Online, accessible from the LAPIGs homepage 
                         (http://www.ufg.br/lapig/). The Cerrado Online provides a very 
                         intuitive interface, with a considerable set of tools and 
                         functions that make possible the visualization, queries, and 
                         analysis of a large integrated database of the Cerrado biome. The 
                         Cerrado Online is a public domain gateway, with open access to 
                         everyone. In fact, all the existent data is downloadable, so that 
                         it can be used in others applications and research.",
